General information

QCVN 18:2022/BTTTT is issued together with Circular No. 22/2022/TT-BTTTT of the Ministry of Information and Communications dated November 29, 2022 "National technical regulation on electromagnetic compatibility for equipment radio communications". From July 1, 2023, imported and domestically manufactured radio communication equipment terminals (under the scope of regulation in QCVN 18:2022/BTTTT) must meet regulatory requirements of QCVN 18:2022/BTTTT.

Enterprises, organizations and individuals are encouraged to manufacture and import radio terminal equipment under the scope of regulation to apply QCVN 18:2022/BTTTT from the effective date of this Circular (May 1st, 2023).

Subjects of application

This technical regulation applies to Vietnamese and foreign agencies, organizations and individuals engaged in the production, trading and exploitation of equipment regulated by this Regulation in Viet Nam.

Technical regulations

This standard specifies general electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements for associated radio and ancillary equipment, excluding broadcast receivers.

Specifications relating to antenna ports of radio equipment and radiated emissions from enclosure ports of radio equipment and combinations of radio equipment and ancillary equipment are not within the scope of this standard.

The EMC test arrangements and individual test results evaluation methods appropriate for each type of radio equipment are specified in the relevant Particular Conditions sections of the ETSI EN 301 489 series of standards.

In the event of differences (e.g. specific conditions, definitions, abbreviations) between this Regulation and the provisions of the relevant Particular Conditions in parts of the ETSI EN 301 489 series of standards, the section relevant particulars of the ETSI EN 301 489 series of standards.

Where there is no technical regulation specifying specific conditions for a particular radio service equipment, for example in the case of a new radio service or a specific application, the standard may be used together with the radio equipment specific information provided by the manufacturer to verify the EMC requirements as outlined in this Regulation.
