1. What is RELIABILITY?
This is a test to evaluate the lifespan or failure rate of a product, and refers to all tests conducted to improve reliability, evaluate, and guarantee in the development and manufacturing process.
Many technical products are frequently used under climatic and mechanical stresses such as heat, cold, moisture, wind and weather. Extreme environmental conditions can have an extreme effect on all functions of these technical products.
DT&C VINA's experts test and evaluate that your products are designed to work perfectly in any environment. DT&C VINA verifies the suitability of parts, equipment and products in an internationally accredited (ISO/IEC 17025) testing laboratory.
2. Major Test Items in Reliability
No. | Name of test item | Summary of test |
1 | Low temperature test (Cold test) | This test is to the determination of the ability of components, equipment or other articles to be used, transported or stored at low temperature. |
2 | High temperature test (Dry heat test) | This test is to the determination of the ability of components, equipment or other articles to be used, transported or stored at high temperature. |
3 | Rapid temperature cycle test (Temperature change test) | This test is to determine the ability of components, equipment or other articles to withstand rapid changes of ambient temperature. |
4 | Temperature & humidity cycle test (Cyclic test with damp heat) | This test is to determine the suitability of components, equipment or other articles for use, transportation and storage under conditions of high humidity – combined with cyclic temperature changes and, in general, producing condensation on the surface of the specimen. |
5 | Composite temperature/humidity cyclic test | This test is to determine the resistance of components, equipment or other articles for use, to the deteriorative effects of high temperature/humidity and cold conditions. |
6 | Temperature/humidity test (Steady state damp heat test) | This test is to determine the ability of components or equipment to withstand transportation, storage and use under conditions of high humidity. |
7 | Vibration (sinusoidal) test | This test to determine the ability of components, equipment and other articles, hereinafter referred to as specimens, to withstand specified severities of sinusoidal vibration. |
8 | Vibration (random) test | This test is to demonstrate the adequacy of specimens/samples to resist dynamic loads without unacceptable degradation of its functional and/or structural integrity when subjected to the specified random vibration test requirements. |
9 | IP test | This test is to determine the ability of components or equipment to withstand ingress of solid foreign objects and water from outside of enclosure. Protection degree of the equipment inside the enclosure against ingress of solid foreign objects and harmful effects due to the ingress of water is classified as followings: (1) Protection degree against ingress of solid foreign objects: |
