[GMA news] The National Electric Wave Research Institute - Korea announced the partial revision of "Technical standards for wireless equipment, simple radio stations, space stations, earth stations and other common wireless devices".

Notice No. 2023-5 of the National Institute of Electric Wave Research on the partial revision of "Technical standards for wireless equipment, simple radio stations, space stations, earth stations and other wireless devices for common use such as wireless radio equipment"

Article 19 - Wireless equipment for intelligent traffic systems

Technical standards for wireless equipment for intelligent transportation systems using radio waves in the frequency range 5855 ~ 5875 MHz are as follows:

  1. Occupied frequency range below 20 MHz
  2. For digital transformation, the access method must be orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA).
  3. The center frequency of the emitted radio waves should be 5865 MHz
  4. Antenna supply power of 200mW or less, equivalent isotropic radiated power of 4W or less
  5. Permissible frequency deviation within ±0.1×10-6 of center frequency
  6. (Emission) need not be less than the following standard values:

a. Out-of-band launch

Frequency extracted from the end of the occupied bandwidth Reference value (average power) Bandwidth resolution
± 0~1 MHz -21 dBm 30 kHz
± 1~5 MHz -10 dBm 1 MHz
± 5~20 MHz -13 dBm 1 MHz
± 20~25 MHz -25 dBm 1 MHz

b. Spurious launch

Frequency range Reference value Bandwidth resolution
Dưới 1 GHz -36 dBm 100 kHz
Trên 1 GHz -30 dBm 1 MHz

The technical standards for wireless devices for intelligent transportation systems using radio waves in the frequency range 5895~5925 MHz are as follows:

  1. Occupied frequency band range less than 10 MHz
  2. The tuning method is digital transformation, the connection method is the collision avoidance/intermediate connection method (CSMA/CA)
  3. The center frequency of the emitted radio waves is 5900 MHz, 5910 MHz, 5920 MHz
  4. The antenna supply power must be 100 mW or less and the equivalent isotropic radiated power must be 2W or less
  5. The frequency offset should be within ±20x10-6 of the center frequency
  6. Emission/Fire need not be less than the following standard values:

a. Out-of-band launch

Frequency away from center frequency Reference value (average power) Bandwidth resolution
± 5.0 MHz -26 dBm 100 kHz
± 5.5 MHz -32 dBm 100 kHz
± 10 MHz -40 dBm 100 kHz
± 15 MHz -50 dBm 100 kHz

b. Spurious launch

Frequency range Reference value Bandwidth resolution
Dưới 1 GHz -36 dBm 100 kHz
Trên 1 GHz -30 dBm 1 MHz
