On February 9, 2023, the Ministry of Information and Communications issued the Draft "National technical regulation on short-range radio equipment in the frequency band 9 kHz -25 MHz" QCVN 55:2023/BTTTT. QCVN 55:2023/BTTTT is expected to take effect from March 1, 2024.
Effectiveness
- This Circular takes effect from March 1, 2024.
- Clause 15, Article 1 of Circular No. 29/2011/TT-BTTTT dated October 26, 2011 of the Minister of Information and Communications promulgating the national technical regulation on telecommunications, which expires from the date of issue. August 1, 2024.
Roadmap for application
- From August 1, 2024, radio equipment (under the scope of regulation in QCVN 55:2023/BTTTT) imported and domestically produced must meet the requirements specified in QCVN 55:2023 /BTTTT.
- Enterprises, organizations and individuals are encouraged to manufacture and import radio equipment (under the scope of regulation in QCVN 55:2023/BTTTT) to apply QCVN 55:2023/BTTTT from the date of Circular No. this comes into force.
Scope
This standard applies to the following types of short range radio equipment (SRD):
a) Short range general purpose radio equipment operating in the frequency range 9 kHz to 25 MHz; and
b) Magnetic loop devices operating in the frequency range 9 kHz to 30 MHz, including: radio identification equipment (RFID), equipment using near field communication (NFC), and equipment using in the secure magnetic gate system (EAS) operating in the LF and HF frequency bands.
This regulation applies to products and goods that are short-range radio equipment with HS codes specified in Appendix J.
All short-range radio equipment specified in this regulation must comply with the regulations on frequency planning and frequency division of Vietnam. The types of radio equipment listed above operate in the frequency bands from 9 kHz to 30 MHz (as specified in Table 1) for the following cases:
- There is a radio output connection with a removable antenna or with an integrated antenna;
- Use any type of modulation;
- Fixed equipment, mobile devices and handheld devices.
