[Argentina] ENACOM allows approval of 5G NR devices
Argentina's ENACOM issued Resolution 2097/2023 on 5 December 2023. According to this, the technical standard ENACOM-Q2-61.03 V23.1 will now be implemented, allowing 5G NR devices to be approved in Argentina. The main changes in this standard are as follows:
Devices using 5G NR are now allowed in the n78 band (3300-3700 MHz).
Until domestic test testing becomes mandatory (March 4, 2024), foreign reports (e.g. FCC, RED, ANATEL) may be used for approval of devices manufactured outside Argentina. However, the test results must comply with the technical parameters established through local standard ENACOM-Q2-61.03 V23.1. Devices manufactured in Argentina can be approved by submitting a DoC.
New applications using foreign transcripts can comply with both the previous standard V17.1 and the new version V23.1 until March 6, 2024. At this time, only V23.1 is accepted.

[Mexico] Issues regulatory guidance to implement new labeling requirements for IFT certified products
On December 26, 2023, Mexico's telecommunications regulator 'IFT' published final guidelines for the use of the IFT label for products, equipment, devices or apparatus approved for telecommunications or broadcasting purposes.
In that guidance, IFT formalized the implementation of the Institutional Logo (IFT Mark) as a mandatory requirement for certified products.
IFT marking on products with a certificate of approval is a mandatory requirement under Article 38 of the Approval Directive and with this announcement, IFT has strengthened this requirement by adding the agency's logo.
Guidelines for the new logo require that the IFT mark be placed vertically or horizontally in addition to the existing "IFT: XXXXXXXXXXXXX" mark, as shown in the photo (example) below.
The IFT seal must be printed in 100% black or 100% negative black and must be easily visible and readable without magnification. (See photo below)
Since this regulation only applies to products certified after the effective date, the existing IFT XXXXXXXXX mark can continue to be used for all products with a previously obtained approval certificate and for products that started the approval process before the announcement date.
There is a transition period of 180 days from the date of publication in the Gazette. Therefore, this guidance will become effective on September 9, 2024, 180 business days after its publication in the DOF.
