Vietnam: MIC Announces New Requirements for 76-77 GHz Radar
The new regulation Circular 9/2021/TT-BTTTT comes into force on 1 July 2022. Prior to November 4, 2021, Vietnamese authorities specified in 2021/BTTTT the obligation to declare conformity for 76-77 GHz radars according to standard QCVN 124. The requirements mentioned above apply to all radars operating in this frequency range. Therefore, you must have a declaration of conformity when importing into Vietnam. Currently, there is no testing laboratory available locally, and MIC is accepting EN 301 091-1 v2.1.1, EN 303 396 v1.1.1 reports from ISO 17025 accredited testing laboratories.
Costa Rica: SUTEL Revises Type Approval Procedure
SUTEL has published RCS-141-2022, a partial amendment to the approval process for mobile devices. Resolution RCS-141-2022 contains amendments to items 1, 1.2, and 1.3.1.2 of the original resolution RCS-358-2018. Modifications to the mobile device approval process include: All application documents submitted to Costa Rica from abroad for approval must be notarized. Malaysia: SIRIM extends provisional approval period for IPv6 devices
The Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) announced on July 10, 2022 that it would extend the provisional approval period for IPv6 cellular equipment without a Wi-Fi interface by one year. This one-year extension also includes equipment other than IPv6 Fiber Optic and Ethernet LANs. The IPv6 Product Declaration form has also been updated and should be used for type approval applications.
UK: UKCA proposes changes to simplify safety mark application
The UK government announced new measures to simplify the application of the new UKCA mark on 20 June 2022. These updates include:
1. Reduce retest costs by allowing manufacturers to apply the UKCA mark to products that have already been assessed for conformity for CE marking by EU authorities before the end of 2022.
2. Eliminate re-inspection requirements for current imported inventory with CE marking by the end of 2022.
3. Allow spare parts to repair, replace or maintain products already on the market to meet the same requirements as when the original product or system was placed on the market.
4. Extend current labeling measures to add sensitive information and UKCA markings with self-adhesive labels or attachments by 31 December 2025.
The UK's Department of Corporate Energy Strategy (BEIS) has also updated its guidelines for placing manufactured products on the market and using the UKCA marking on 20 June 2022.
Kuwait: CITRA Amends Wi-Fi Regulations for 6GHz
On May 12, 2022, CITRA announced Resolution No. 88 was issued.
The new regulation addresses new technical requirements for WLAN devices. The technical requirements for WLAN 2.4 and 5 GHz remain the same, but the technical requirements for WLAN 6 GHz have been added as follows:
1. Operating frequency range 5925-6425 MHz
2. EIRP 200 mW
3. Must comply with EN 303 687
4. Only for indoor use
India: TEC update status
The Center for Telecommunications Engineering and Technology (TEC) of India recently released several important updates to the Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecommunications Equipment (MTCTE).
1. Validity of MTCTE Approval
As of July 1st, TEC will extend the validity period of the MTCTE certificate from 5 years to 10 years, which will be effective immediately. The previously issued approval details maintain the validity period of 5 years, and are issued for 10 years upon renewal. Issues issued after July 1st are valid for 10 years.
2. Announcement of new ER (Essential Requirements)
TEC has published a new Essential Requirements (ER) for its 'Hybrid Set Top Box' products regarding Mandatory Testing and Certification (MTCTE) of Telecommunication Equipment.
TEC now requires authorization for set-top boxes that can broadcast IP-based video and allow users to access video or audio over a local IP network using a digital cable or Direct to Home (DTH).
3. New exemptions for products under MTCTE regulations
On June 23, 2022, PTP PMP Microwave Fixed Radio Systems products will receive MTCTE approval until December 22, 2022 or further notice. On May 24, 2022, TEC issued a Notice of Exemption from Testing and Certification for the following devices that were previously subject to mandatory testing and certification:

b) Server
c) smart watch
D) Smart Camera
E) POS (POS)
Mexico: Ministry of Economy Announces NOM Sample Delivery Guidelines
Mexico's Ministry of Economy (SE) has published a notice on the import of samples for certification purposes on June 21, 2022, which requires importers to comply with the following procedures:
1. The number of samples must not be less than 3 or exceed the quantity determined by the relevant NOM organization.
2. The importer must specify in the import application the European Product Identification Mark of SAT Annex 8, Article 22, which classifies the goods before commercialization of the goods.
3. Importers are required to declare tariff rate 9806.00.01 for sample imports.
4. When sending samples, the importer must enclose the document issued by the relevant CB that proves that the shipment is for the purpose of obtaining approval, and this must be accompanied by the import declaration form. , the required quantity notified by the institution must be documented.
