[Botswana] BOCRA type approval exemption list issued

The Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) has issued a Type Approval Exemption List for the following devices: 

• Personal computers, laptops, tablets, IoT devices

• Reception-only equipment: FM/MW/SW radio, television, satellite decoder, set-top box, etc.

• In-vehicle RTTE, such as Bluetooth, navigation, remote sensors, car keys, etc. (RTTE must operate in the appropriate frequency band)

• GMPCS mobile satellite terminal with ITU mark

[India] TEC extends mandatory certification deadline for Phase 3, 4

India's Telecommunication Engineering Center (TEC) has issued a notification extending the mandatory certification deadline for 32 products covered under phases 3 and 4 of MTCTE.

The mandatory certification date for 32 products listed in Annexure-I has been extended by three months from October 1st, 2023 to January 1st, 2024.

[USA] CPSC issues final rule on small dry cell and coin battery safety standards

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) published safety standards for button cell or coin batteries and consumer products containing such batteries in the Federal Register on September 21, 2023.

This standard will come into effect on October 23, 2023. Pursuant to the standard, CPSC issued a rule on September 21, 2023, regarding warning labeling for button cell or coin battery packaging.

The rule will take effect on September 21, 2024, and will apply to all imported or manufactured button cells or coin batteries from that point on. Packaging must comply with the rules.

[China] Notice on resumption of CQC hot water mat safety and electromagnetic compatibility certification work

The China Quality Certification Center (CQC) will resume safety and electromagnetic compatibility certification work for hot water mats.
