[MIC] Draft national technical regulation QCVN 117:2023/BTTTT for terrestrial mobile communication terminals (2G/3G/4G LTE)

The Ministry of Information and Communications announced the draft circular issued together with QCVN 117: 2023/BTTTT on terrestrial mobile communication terminal equipment - Radio access part.

QCVN 117:2023/BTTTT is based on ETSI standards EN 30 908-13 V13.2.1 for LTE and QCVN 117:2020/BTTTT with some additional technical requirements for GSSM, WCDMS and EN 301 908-1 V15.1.1.

Compared with the current standard QCVN 117:2020/BTTTT, QCVN 117:2023/BTTTT has the following new points:

Additional LTE bands are: 2300-2400 MHz (B40), 2500-2690 MHz (B41), 703-733 MHz/758-788 MHz (B28)
Mobile phones must be able to operate on one of the LTE/4G bands specified in the regulation
Other terrestrial mobile communication terminals other than mobile phones are not required to support 4G/LTE technology
For NB-IoT, LTE-M, 5G technologies will be applied according to separate technical regulations issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications, not QCVN 117:2023/BTTTT

Radio transceivers using spread spectrum modulation in the 2.4 GHz band
5 GHz band radio access
Short distance radio transmission and transceiver

According to the draft promulgation, the standard QCVN 117:2023/BTTTT will be promulgated in 2023 and take effect from March 1, 2024. It is expected that this regulation will apply to goods on the List of goods required to comply with CoC and DoC and take effect from July 1, 2024.
