China announces revision of CCC mandatory certification list

The Pangong Office of the State Council of China recently announced a plan to revise the list of CCC certified products with the aim of deepening the reform of the electrical and electronic industry management system.

Lithium-ion batteries, power adapters, and chargers with high safety risk are included in the CCC certification management list, and 9 types of products, such as data terminals and multimedia terminals with relatively low risk and no technical defects, are excluded from the CCC certification target list.

Notice of the State Administration of Market Management on the cessation of mandatory product certification management for a number of electrical - electronic products, specifically as follows:

- The management of CCC certification is no longer carried out for 9 types of electrical and electronic products with low safety risks and the technology is relatively mature.

- Scope of application "Compulsory Product Certification Implementation Rules for Audiovisual Devices" (CNCA-C08-01:2014) and "Compulsory Product Certification Implementation Rules for Communication Terminals" telecommunications information" (CNCA-C16-01:2014) deletes the related products, abolishing the "Compulsory Product Certification Implementation Rule for Anti-Theft Alarm Products" (CNCA-C19-01: 2014).

- The designated business scope of certification bodies and testing laboratories related to these 9 product categories will be cancelled.

- The certification body, the designated testing laboratory stops the corresponding testing activities and CCC certification for the related products, cancels the CCC certifications issued in accordance with the regulations.
